Air Cargo Terminal - Dubai International Airport
 
F-16 and Sukhoi SU-27 outside the Emirates Air Cargo Terminal at the Dubai Airshow Built for Emirates Airlines this 1300 tonne Air Cargo Terminal is part of Dubai Airport Air Cargo Village.

The steel frame gives 12.5m clear height in 25 metre spans allowing a large clear room inside the terminalThe Cargo Terminal was designed at very short notice. The original consultants had taken nine months to design and Design and Manufacture of this 1300 tonne Air Cargo Terminal by REIDsteelspecify the building. This left REIDsteel only twelve weeks to redesign the whole complex, buy and fabricate the steel and dispatch it to Dubai, in order to meet the deadline.

 

Inspite of the tremendous achievements of REID design engineers, draughtsmen and fabricators and the need to galvanize the steel, made the deadline very nearly unachievable. The first 75 tonnes were therefore dispatched by air in an Antonov via Paris. All of the construction targets were met.

 

The hangar was erected by a local construction company. We also designed and manufactured a twin airbus hangar for Emirates Airlines the previous year.
